Why are Antioxidants important?
Let’s revisit Free Radicals. These are atoms with unpaired electrons. They cause damage to cells and when the cell is oxidized, it dies. Antioxidants help balance the atoms by donating one of their electrons. Our bodies naturally produce antioxidants, but pollution, poor diet, stress, certain medications and aging cause damage faster than our antioxidants can correct.
