Levulan with Fotofacial plus Post-Procedure Products Package:

Levulan is a Photodynamic Therapy (PDT) skin treatment that improves acne, sun damage and textural irregularities in the skin.

Levulan PDT is performed by applying a topical photosensitizer called Levulan to the skin. After proper penetration to the skin, the treatment area is exposed to the intense light of FotoFacial IPL. Preparation:

It is essential to prepare your skin with a recommended medical grade skin care program to maximize results and speed recovery.  The vast majority of Rejuvent patients are already on a good program, but for new patients who are just starting to take care of their skin, PDT should be delayed until they have seen improvements from a skin care regimen: 4 – 6 weeks.  A quality skin care program stabilizes melanocytes (reducing and evening their pigment production) and increases skin cell turnover (which accelerates recovery).

Downtime:

Everyone reacts differently to Levulan, but the majority of our patients experience redness, peeling, swelling and a little tenderness.
Redness and Peeling: Your skin will be red and you will have some skin peeling (and crusting in some instances) for several days after the treatment. Usually, the first 1-2 days are the worst. You will be required to remain indoors 48 hours following your treatment to avoid sun exposure, as you are photosensitive during that time. It is essential to use post-care products as directed to speed up healing.

eMatrix Plus Post-Procedure Products Package

eMatrix uses radio frequency to deliver an effective but controlled treatment for wrinkles, scars, large pores and better texture of the skin. Each pulse delivers the radio frequency energy via a grid of matrix spots, inducing a skin injury which is maximized in these tiny, targeted areas. A healing response in the surrounding tissue is triggered, causing healthy cells and new collagen to replace those that were damaged.

What can you expect after eMatrix?

eMatrix patients can expect a noticeable reduction of fine lines, wrinkles and acne and acne scarring. In addition, patients will see an improvement in texture and skin laxity. On average, most results appear over a period of three to six months (it takes time for collagen to grow), but some patients notice results immediately after treatment.

Downtime: After the procedure, your skin may appear pink as with a mild sunburn. This will subside within a couple of days and there is really no downtime needed. The products included in this package are great to soothe and expedite healing.

eMatrix is a form of Fractionated skin rejuvenation. eMatirx was chosen for our patients at Rejuvent over Fraxel for the enhanced safety profile to achieve more youthful skin. Our skin benefits from a small controlled injury (peels, Levulan, radio frequency, IPL, lasers) by inducing the healing response of building more collagen, elastin and hyaluronic acid. Frasier Says… Prost!

The first Oktoberfest was held in Munich in 1810, celebrating the wedding of Crown Prince Ludwig to Princess Therese of Bavaria. This inaugural celebration involved a parade, a horse race around a 2 mile track, and copious beer consumption.  Additional events and activities were added over the ensuing years. Currently it is a 16 day festival, with as much as 2 million gallons of beer consumed by the 6 million annual visitors. 

Although Oktoberfest features occasional excess, beer in moderation does have health benefits, especially craft ales.  Research has shown that ale increases levels of B vitamins when consumed in moderation.  A Dutch study found beer drinkers had a 30% higher level of B6 than non-drinkers, and twice as much B6 as wine drinkers. Ale also contains soluble fiber, unlike other alcoholic beverages. Ale promotes kidney health, and has even been shown to reduce cardiovascular risk. Light to moderate beer drinkers have a 40-60% reduced risk of heart attack. Hops, which are an essential ingredient that gives beer its soul and rich floral aroma, are rich in antioxidants which scavenge damaging free radicals.

Interestingly, certain hops such as Citra and Simcoe can lend a slightly “catty” aroma to an aggressively hoped IPA…

Offects Correct and Conceal is an acne stick that contains Salicylic Acid and provides a matte coverage to cover and treat your pimples at the same time. I recently had a big pimple on my chin which gave me the opportunity to use this product. I love that I was treating my pimple and covering it at the same time. My current skin type is oily in T-zone, enlarged pores, hormonal acne, fine wrinkles, mild brown pigmentation. The product is great for people who have oily skin, blackheads and enlarged pores. The salicylate acid melts the sebum (hardened oil in the pores) and also exfoliates dead skin cells. This cleanser is great in the morning. It does not remove makeup well so morning is a better time for use unless there is no makeup to remove. For best outcome, moisten face with warm water and then massage 1-2 pumps into the face and neck skin for one minute – the extended time will promote deeper pore penetration and treatment. It helps oil control but does not dry the skin excessively. This has become part of my daily routine to control oil, reduce pore size and prevent hormonal acne.

Many of you already know and love Linda Esposito.  She is a nurse with over 35 years’ experience, and has been Rejuvent’s nurse since 2014.  She previously injected Botox and Dysport for over 10 years at another practice.  During the past year, she has been trained in Dr. Bomer’s neuromodulator injection technique that results in a natural looking softening of lines. Frasier Says… Gotta Catch’em All!

My strategy for catching them is to grab a leg with my front claws and bring them down.  Once on the ground I subdue them with a swift bite to the back of the neck.  Naturally, I then play with them for a while before they are incarcerated.  They are surprisingly happy to go into the Pokeball when playtime is over.

This routine is best suited for those who are actively exfoliating their skin with alpha hydroxy acids and retinol because this opens the skin for the moisture to penetrate.
