What to Expect During Filler Correction at Rejuvent?

It is important for patients to realize that correcting misplaced, or over-injected filler from other offices is more complicated than performing a Liquid Face Lift. Sometimes several injections of Vitrase are required over several weeks. Vitrase works within 3 days, a second injection is administered 1 week later if necessary. Often the placement of additional filler in the correct tissue plane and location is required to complete the correction and give the patient the improvement they were initially seeking.

The lower lip had a slight sausage appearance from too much filler at the lateral aspects and protruded slightly too much. The upper lip was also full laterally. Sometimes filler is incorrectly placed or metabolized differently than expected.  Filler correction is the procedure to correct such issues.

No. Only Hyaluronic Acid-based fillers can be dissolved.

Hyaluronic Acid dermal fillers that can be corrected or reversed are:

At Rejuvent, our doctors do not use permanent fillers due to their unpredictability. Those fillers such as Sculptra and Artefill are irreversible and can migrate after a certain time, which often causes new issues.

At Rejuvent, our facial plastic surgeons use Vitrase which contains an enzyme called hyaluronidase. This enzyme dissolves the Hyaluronic Acid (HA) filler.

Often, removing filler is a much harder procedure than injecting it. This must only be performed by an expert physician with the skills and experience in using Vitrase or other hyaluronidase-based product.

At Rejuvent, Vitrase is mixed with lidocaine by the physician, so it is a fairly comfortable procedure.

It takes at least 24 hours and up to 3 days to see results achieved by Vitrase.

The most important factor in protecting your face is choosing an expert to perform your filler injection.

It is a fact that anyone can receive a quick course and start injecting with dermal fillers and Botox. But keep in mind that these providers do not understand how intricate the anatomy of the face is and how the nerves, veins, muscles, and fat pads relate to each other. Even an experienced nurse does not know facial anatomy.
