How do Chemical Peels work?
Chemical peels use well-known ingredients in higher concentrations that promote skin rejuvenation, such as alpha hydroxy acids, glycolic acid, salicylic acid and retinol to name a few. These acids exfoliate the dead skin in the outer layer (epidermis) and stimulate collagen and elastin production in the deeper layer (dermis). Peels can also breakdown melanin (brown pigment) deposits in the dermis, which lightens age spots.
